A Quick-Start Guide for Bright Horizon Creative Clients

At Bright Horizon Creative, we believe your website should feel empowering—not overwhelming. This guide will walk you through everything you need to confidently manage and update your Squarespace website with ease.

Getting Started: Accessing Your Site

Logging in is simple:

  1. Go to squarespace.com/login

  2. Enter your Squarespace login email and password

  3. From your dashboard, select your website to open the site editor

  4. You’re now in the admin panel, where you can make edits and updates anytime

Navigating the Squarespace Dashboard

Here’s a quick overview of what each section does:

Pages

Add, edit, move, or hide site pages

Design

Adjust fonts, colors, spacing, and buttons

Commerce

Manage products, orders, shipping (online stores only)

Marketing

Set up SEO, email campaigns, and social links

Analytics

Track visitor traffic, page views, and engagement

Settings

Manage domains, permissions, and technical settings

Making Content Updates

✅ Editing Text

  1. Go to Pages in the dashboard

  2. Select the page you’d like to update

  3. Hover over the section and click Edit

  4. Click directly into any text block to make your changes

  5. Click Done, then Save to publish

🖼️ Updating Images

  1. In Edit mode, click the image you want to change

  2. Click Replace to upload a new image

  3. Adjust size, crop, and focal point

  4. Add Image Titles and Alt Text for accessibility & SEO

  5. Click Save

➕ Adding New Content Sections

  1. Click Edit on your desired page

  2. Hover between sections until the + button appears

  3. Click + to choose a layout (text, gallery, form, etc.)

  4. Add your content and click Save

🔗 Modifying Buttons & Links

  1. Click on any button or linked text in Edit mode

  2. Select Edit Link

  3. Choose your destination:

    • Page (on your site)

    • Web Address (external link)

    • Email, Phone, or File download

  4. Click Apply, then Save

  5. Test your link to ensure it works as expected
