Feedback Guide: How to Give Helpful Feedback
Let’s make your design everything you dreamed of (and more).
To make sure we stay aligned and keep things moving smoothly, here’s a quick guide on how to share clear, constructive feedback during the design process.
💬 Be Specific
Vague: “I don’t like this.”
Helpful: “The font feels too modern for my brand — could we try something softer?”
💡 Why it matters: Clear feedback helps us understand what’s not working and how to make it better. Be as detailed as you can about what you like, what feels off, and why.
🧩 Focus on the Goal
Keep your brand, audience, and project goals in mind when reviewing.
Ask yourself:
Does this reflect my brand’s personality and values?
Will this speak to my ideal client?
Does it feel aligned with the purpose of the page/section?
📝 Group Your Feedback
Try to review the design in one or two sittings and gather your thoughts into one message.
🕓 Why? It saves time and avoids back-and-forth confusion, making the revision process faster and smoother for everyone.
❤️ Be Honest — But Kind
I want your honest input — always! Just remember we’re a team. Kind, respectful feedback creates a positive space for great work.
🔄 Trust the Process
Some elements might not make full sense until the bigger picture comes together. If you’re unsure about something, feel free to ask, and I’ll walk you through the reasoning.
✨ Bonus Tips:
If possible, annotate directly on the mock up or leave comments where the change is needed.
Use terms like:
“Could we explore…”
“Would it be possible to try…”
“This part doesn’t feel quite right because…”
🤝 Collaboration is Key
I’m here to guide you and bring your vision to life — your feedback is an essential part of that. The clearer and more thoughtful your feedback, the stronger and more successful the final result will be.
